Liberty Unino Music Department

Music Booster Minutes

Notes & reminders

  • As a reminder, there is a paper recycling bin behind the Marathon station.  This is the bin that used to be behind the Lunch Box!  Proceeds from this recycling bin go to the LU Music Boosters.  Let's make sure we remember to use this bin to discard all of our paper items!  This is an easy way to protect our environment and raise money for the Boosters at the same time!
  • We have now set up a fundraiser through Good Search.com. If you click on the GoodSearch link on the navigation bar, you will be directed to the Good Search search engine. Type in Liberty Union Music Boosters for the charity/school name, and every search you do on the site will earn us money. If you buy items through Good Shop, we will also get a percentage on that. This is a painless way for us to increase our funds, while you do searches across the internet! You can add this to your web browser and use it there also.
  • The HS choirs will be traveling to Cedar Point on May 10, 2008, for a choral competition and a day in the park!  We will be leaving the school by 8:00 am, and should be done with our performances shortly after noon.  We will be at the park until late in the evening and will return close to midnight. The LUHS Ensemble performed at King's Island in 2007 and we found this to be a very successful event.  I am thrilled to share this experience with both HS choirs this spring.
  • Congratulations to the Ensemble for receiving a 2 at District Competition.
  • Congratulations to the Concert Band on receiving a 1 at District Competition. They will be moving on to the State Contest April 25th at Gahanna Lincoln High School.
  • Congratulations to the Concert Band on receiving a 1 at State Competition. The comments from the judges were very positive and reflect the tremendous amount of work done by both Mr. Factor and the students in the band. Their performance was one of their best all year. This is a moment that these students have been working toward for years, and we are very proud of them. Credit for this achievement goes to Mr. Factor for bringing all of this work to fruition, and to Mr. DeKay for starting them on this course. We look forward to next year and a continuation of the growth the band has displayed this year!
