Olivia Congrove receives the EF Global Citizen Scholarship! Olivia Congrove

EF Educational Tours is the world leader in international education. We partner with educators across the world to create culturally immersive student travel programs.

The EF Global Citizen Scholarship is awarded annually to students who strive to be global citizens in their daily lives and demonstrate a commitment to tackling global issues. Recipients of our annual Global Citizen Scholarship will travel for free to our Global Leadership Summit addressing the Future of Food. Selected students will experience Europe through the lens of food and collaborate with other globally-minded students at the two-day leadership conference in Milan, Italy, to design solutions to help feed our growing world -- and compete for a chance to have their idea featured in the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. The approximate value of the scholarship is $5,500.

This year, over 550 students applied for the Global Citizen Scholarship and only 18 students were chosen to be scholarship recipients- a 4% acceptance rate!

We chose two students from Ohio. The other student is from Olentangy High School.

We selected Olivia Congrove due to her exceptional essay which demonstrated her global mindset, commitment to service, and leadership skills.

LU FFA Update Public Speaking Team

The Liberty Union FFA chapter has been hard at work the past month with multiple CDE’s, applications, and planning for upcoming events. Two CDE teams have competed in AIDS and Public Speaking, ten members are applying for their State Degree and two graduates are applying for their American Degrees. LU members never fail to impress the judges at competitions. This isn’t surprising considering the amount of work that they dedicate into practicing for each contest.

Keith Robinson has been selected! Keith Robinson

Keith Robinson, an eighth grade history teacher at Liberty Union Middle School, has been selected to present at the Nation Council for Social Studies Annual Conference in Washington DC in December. Robinson, with a group of fellow teachers, will present Remembering September 11: Student Projects Employing Inquiry and Technology.
