Superintendent

Final results of student achievement testing for the 2009/2010 school year will be released by the Ohio Department of Education mid-August.  Preliminary information shows district students meeting or exceeding twenty-four of twenty-six state indicators, for an “Effective” ranking.

The high school renovation project is progressing well, although there is much work to be completed before school starts on September 8th.  Hopefully, by that date, high school classrooms and the core of the building will be finished, and the focus of renovation will shift to the auditorium area.  Auditorium renovations are scheduled to be completed by the end of January.  Parking restrictions at the high school will continue to be in effect for the 2010/2011 school year.  The high school office staff has been relocated to the elementary school, and will remain there through August.

New middle school construction is under way, with foundation work nearly completed, and above-ground masonry work beginning.  Much of the middle school site work has now been completed as well.  PLEASE do not drive or walk in the middle school construction area.  Progress of the building is easily viewed from a distance.  For safety reasons, it is very important for everyone to stay out of the construction area.
