Could you read a novel in ONE day?

The entire Liberty Union Middle School recently read a 238-page book in one school day! All of the Above, a book by Shelley Pearsall, is about 4 kids and a math teacher overcoming many challenges to build a world record-breaking tetrahedron. Students at LUMS went through their day reading All Of The Above in different ways throughout each class. Each grade started off reading 45 pages in their first-period class through a video and skit then building the starting pieces to our tetrahedron next. The whole school even had a portion of the book read to them by Coach Kramer, the High School Varsity basketball coach. He is also an ELA teacher at the high school and an author himself. In each class, the students either read the book aloud, had it read to them, watched a video, saw a skit or heard guest readers. This kept the school interested in the book by changing it up frequently.   By the end of the day when we came back together for a whole school assembly, we read the last few pages together and were told that we had a special surprise coming. The author, Shelley Pearsall, was coming to LUMS for a visit. It was a really great day at LUMS. Written by Ghent Tinnermann and Matthew Benson
