Mrs. Lauren Martin, 8th-12th grade Art
Mrs. Martin was nominated by colleagues and won this award because she is integrating computer use in the Art room, kids are researching topics, history, images, theories, artist, etc.. She also is using technologies that students would not normally get to use at middle school or high school levels. One example of this is a Kiln and using tools to create amazing works of art at all levels. Mrs. Martin also uses all types of technologies: internet, slides, Google classroom, wheels, kilns, recycled materials, digital imaging, photography and much more. She is inspiring to staff and students. She uses all of these tools to empower students to express themselves through art every day. For some students, her guidance and encouragement are the reasons they get up and come to school each day. Way to go Mrs. Martin!
