Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, February 4, 20 middle school students competed in the annual Liberty Union Middle School Spelling Bee. These students worked very hard all school year to prepare for this moment, and it certainly showed in the exciting competition! Reagan Farmer, grade 6, won the honor of school champion and will represent LUMS at the county bee on March 21 at Crossroads in Lancaster. Runner-up Cassidy Turner will compete as the 8th grade representative. They will be joined by the 7th grade champion Katrina Friesner and 5th grade champion Nick Buskirk. Special thanks go to our pronouncer, Superintendent Todd Osborn, and judges, Theresa Roszman and Kevin Yates. Congratulations to our champions, and good luck at the county bee!

Our Town: The FAST Design Project

The Liberty Union FAST Design team has  developed a way to get the community more closely involved with the schools. We'll be partnering with businesses and individuals to get students out of the classrooms, and into the community to experience problem/project based learning. The video simply introduces outsiders to the community, and highlights the wealth of resources right here in Baltimore from which students can learn. We've called this project Our Town.
