Students of the Month

Congratulations to the March Students of the Month.

Community Meeting

Parents and community members are invited to attend a community meeting at the LU-T district office (1108 S. Main St.) on Sunday, March 23rd, from 2-4 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for people to get additional information or to ask questions about the upcoming levy, or other issues they may have.  The Superintendent, Treasurer, and the Board of Education will be present to have discussions with those in attendance.

Income Tax Renewal Levy

This is NOT a new tax request... It is a renewal!

The Liberty Union-Thurston Local Schools District currently receives revenue through a one and three-quarter (1.75%) percent income tax.  The one and three-quarter percent total comes from two separate tax issues.  In 1990, voters approved a one and one-quarter percent (1.25%) “continuing” school income tax.  In 2005, voters approved an additional half-percent (0.50%) school income tax, for a five-year period.  That half-percent school income tax was renewed by voters in 2010, again, for a five-year period.  Voter approval of the half-percent (0.50%) school income tax renewal on May 6th will keep tax rates the same as they have been since 2005.

Middle School Fundraising

Every time you make a purchase at Kroger and scan your Kroger Plus card, Kroger will donate a percentage of your purchase to Liberty Union Middle School.  You DO NOT need to apply for a credit card.  You just need to link your existing Kroger Plus shopper’s card to the program.

Every time you make a purchase at Target and scan your Red Card, Target will donate a percentage of your purchase to our Middle School.  You do need to apply for a Target Red Card (credit or debit card).
