Notice to Bidders
The Board of Education of Liberty Union-Thurston Local Schools will be accepting bids for all material, labor and services necessary for the building automation and controls systems integration and upgrade project at the following locations:
Camp NewsELA
Keep students on track this summer with Camp Newsela. Students can join Reading Clubs tailored to their interests, ranging from sports, science, to all things gross. Students will be assigned 2 weekly articles related to the club of their choosing. When each club achieves its reading goal, students will have the chance to give back by voting on a DonorsChoose.org project for Newsela to support on behalf of their club.
LUMS Career Day 2016
Grace Cornett: Nationally Recognized Inventor
Grace Cornett, 5th grade student at LUMS, placed first in the Nation in the Transportation and Manufacturing division at the National Invention Convention in Washington, D.C. What an amazing accomplishment!
LUMS 8th Grade State Science Fair
The District Science Fair was held in March at Ohio University. Of the 9 LUMS students at districts, 4 qualified to go to The Ohio Academy of Science, State Science Fair at OSU on May 14th.
Summer Learning Program
Liberty Union – Thurston Local School District (grades K-5) will be offering a Summer Learning Program in partnership with the Baltimore branch of the Fairfield County District Library. The program will run from June 1st to August 1st.
Keith Robinson has been selected!
Keith Robinson, an eighth grade history teacher at Liberty Union Middle School, has been selected to present at the Nation Council for Social Studies Annual Conference in Washington DC in December. Robinson, with a group of fellow teachers, will present Remembering September 11: Student Projects Employing Inquiry and Technology.
Career Exploration Summer Camp
The Eastland Career Center will be holding a FREE Career Exploration Summer Camp for current 6th, 7th and 8th graders on June 8, 9, and 10. Free busing will be provided to and from LUMS to the camp.
