On Saturday, February 10, nine writers competed in the district tournament for the Power of the Pen statewide creative writing competition. Eleven local schools participated in this interscholastic competition. We are so proud of our young writers for the creativity and grit they demonstrated. 

Congratulations to seventh grader Lily Endsley for her first place individual win, which automatically qualifies her for the Regional tournament! Our 7th grade team received an honorable mention 4th place win! It was an incredibly tight competition. Four of our writers took a top placement in one of their writing rounds, and three took a second placement in one of their writing rounds! Six of our writers received at least one SUPERIOR score (94-100), and EVERY SINGLE WRITER ON THE TEAM received HONORS or above on at least two of their three rounds (82-93)! These are results worth celebrating!
