Updated Attendance Procedures

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Due to the current pandemic, the attendance policies outlined in each building’s handbook is no longer conducive to
either the hybrid or remote learning plans for the 2020-2021 school year. Beginning on January 4, 2021, all
buildings will change the way attendance is taken based on guidelines from ODE regarding attendance considerations
for remote learning plans. This will only be in effect while we are in either LU-T’s hybrid or remote learning plans.

? Each student in the district will complete a Google Form to take his or her attendance for the day. Although the form will
look similar for each building, the locations of where the form is posted and the timeframe to complete the form will be
slightly different at each building.
? The high school’s form will be posted on the high school website (under News and Announcements), and
all students will have until 2:15 p.m. to complete the form for their daily attendance.
? The middle school’s form will be posted on each grade level’s Google Classroom page, and all students will
have until 10:00 p.m. to complete the form for their daily attendance.
? The elementary school’s form will be posted on each teacher’s Google Classroom at the TOP of the
STREAM, and all students will have until 10:00 p.m. to complete the form for their daily attendance.
? If a student fails to complete the daily attendance Google Form, they will be considered unexcused and the following time
will be added as unexcused:
? 6.5 hours per absence at the high school
? 6.5 hours per absence at the middle school
? 6.25 hours per absence at the elementary school

This new daily attendance check is for both hybrid and remote learners. Hybrid students will need to take their
daily attendance on the three days they are not in school. Remote learners will take their attendance all five days of the
week.
Please encourage and remind/assist your students to take their attendance each day. Note: The students must take
their attendance using their school Google account, and the email address collected must match the name selected
from the drop-down menu.

If there are any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
