To All of those Connected to Liberty Union-Thurston Schools,


We are preparing to close our school buildings for an extended time to ensure that our deep cleaning procedures are most effective. Below is a summary of answers to questions at this point in time.

INSTRUCTION FOR STUDENTS & PERSONAL ITEM COLLECTION NEW

  • All students should collect any personal items as well as their school assigned Chromebooks BEFORE Friday, March 20th at 12:00 noon. 

  • The high school will be open on Wednesday, March 18th from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. for students to claim personal items and Chromebooks. 

    • If items cannot be picked up on Wednesday, high school students should email Mr. Gallatin to establish a time for school access.

  • The middle school is open on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Friday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Chromebooks pick up is still scheduled tonight from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 PM. curbside at the front of the building. 

  • For elementary students who did not yet pick up their personal items and Chromebooks on Tuesday, please email Mrs. Rainey to establish a time for school access.


OPERATIONS NEW

  • After 12:00 noon on Friday, March 20th, building access will be extremely limited.  Only those staff members that have responsibilities regarding essential district operations, cleaning facilities, or assisting with food service will have access.    


COMMUNICATION NEW


FOOD SERVICE

  • Free meal food service is continuing for students up to age 18 Monday through Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. through curbside food pick-up for all grade levels (K-12) will be held at the back of the middle school building each weekday.  

  • Families are encouraged to pick up food bags for the entire week for each child.

  • The district will not be responsible for monitoring food allergies during this time. However, if your child has a severe allergy to peanut butter, please let us know, as we will be using Uncrustables on a daily basis.

  • If you plan to participate in the curbside pickup, please contact Jan Friedrich with the number of children at [email protected] or text 614-579-8807 in order for us to better serve your students.
