Revision to the District’s COVID Protocol During the Summer Break

Revision to the District’s COVID Protocol During the Summer Break

Although the order sunsets on June 2, 2021, there are a number of provisions that will remain in effect for school systems. I have highlighted those provisions so that administrators, staff, students, and community members can reference them. June 1 2021 Highlighted Provisions.pdf

It is my intent to send out a memo Tuesday, June 2, 2021, with directions to guide our staff about revisions to our COVID protocol during the summer. This will allow us to use the months of June and July to collect additional data and continue to monitor our progress in addressing and controlling the spread of COVID. The information gathered will allow us to make additional modifications in our protocol, if necessary, during the first week of August 2021.

Effective June 2, 2021 the following protocol will be implemented:

  • Fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear masks while inside our facilities. Observation of this protocol will be on an honor system. We will not require proof of vaccination.

  • Signage will be posted at all entrances stating that masks will be required while in the facility unless the individual is fully vaccinated.

  • Daily health checks will be conducted and logs will be kept for all individuals entering a school district facility.

  • Masks will be required by instructional staff and students while in classrooms participating in instruction and on school buses. Vaccinated instructional staff may substitute their mask with a face shield.

  • Masks will not be required while performing any activity outside on school facilities. Social distancing will be encouraged.

  • The school district’s Athletic Programs will follow the protocol defined by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

  • The school district will follow the capacity requirement for indoor seating.

  • Hand sanitizer stations and masks will be made available.

  • Disinfecting products will be made available and high contact surfaces will be routinely cleaned.
